Paule grew up in South Africa.  Coming to Canada at the age of 12 was a big culture shock to her system and the first time she experienced snow.  Her family settled in Ontario, however after completing her undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Western Ontario, Paule moved to British Columbia and never looked back.  Paule received her law degree from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2004.  After articling and practicing in a downtown Vancouver firm, Paule moved to Kelowna to start a family and get a dog.

A number of years later, now the proud “mom” of two sons, two cats and two dogs, Paule is happily settled in the Okanagan with her large and rather unruly family.  Since leaving Vancouver, Paule has worked in the banking industry and has run her own law practice, focusing on family law, wills and estates, and corporate law.  When Paule isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her boys, dinners with friends and walks with her dogs.

Nina came to our firm after completing a Bachelor of Science in Honours Psychology with a focus on Social Psychology at the University of British Columbia.  Her desire to apply psychology to the practice of family law combined with her calm demeanor, positive outlook, and ability to understand the impacts of complex social relationships is what led her to become a mediator.   Having previously worked in our offices assisting with drafting documents, research, and client coordination has given Nina a strong platform to understand court proceedings and the intricacies of the family dynamic.  Nina’s main goal in mediation is to help families restructure and empathetically transition through the challenges of divorce in order to move forward by identifying issues, developing options, considering alternatives, and ultimately arriving at a fair and durable agreement.  In her spare time, Nina and her husband love to spend time with family, travel, and go on adventures with their two dogs.
